How to Choose Pixel Pitch for a Conference Room LED Wall

For a conference room, choose pixel pitch around the nearest seat, smallest readable content and final wall resolution. A 4K input signal does not automatically make the LED wall a native 4K display.

Measure the room from the closest seat

Record the proposed wall width and height, the nearest viewer and the farthest seat. Describe the material that matters: spreadsheets, video meetings, engineering drawings or slides. A wall that looks sharp for large graphics may not show small spreadsheet cells comfortably. There is no single viewing-distance rule that replaces a content test at the intended size.

Calculate the pixel count before choosing a controller

Approximate horizontal resolution equals width in millimeters divided by pitch in millimeters; vertical resolution follows the same calculation. For illustration, a 4.8 m × 2.7 m wall at a nominal 1.25 mm pitch calculates to 3840 × 2160 pixels. This is a geometry example, not a confirmed VisiGuard configuration or quotation. Actual pixel counts must follow the selected module and cabinet layout.

Request a cabinet-level resolution drawing

VisiGuard lists 600 × 337.5 mm and 600 × 675 mm cabinet formats. A 4.8 m × 2.7 m outline can be described geometrically as eight by eight of the smaller cabinets, but the final resolution still needs verification for the chosen module. Rounded pitch labels alone are insufficient. Ask for horizontal and vertical pixels per cabinet and the total native wall resolution, then check the processor mapping and source scaling.

Check the wall at real meeting-room settings

Assess text size and contrast from the nearest and side seats, with the room lighting in its usual state. Agree a sensible operating brightness and test low-level detail and reflections there. For video conferencing, include the room camera, shutter settings and typical participants in the demonstration. A fine pitch or high refresh specification does not independently guarantee a clean image on every camera.

Leave room for installation and service

The VisiGuard table lists front maintenance, but the finished installation also needs mounting alignment, module-removal clearance, cable routes and adequate ventilation. Panel depth is not the same as total installed depth. Coordinate the wall outline with furniture, camera position, loudspeakers and electrical access. Send room dimensions, sample content and the intended wall size to receive a configuration-specific proposal.

Your project checklist

  • Wall width and height, plus room photographs or drawings
  • Closest and farthest viewing positions
  • Typical presentation or spreadsheet content
  • Required source inputs and video-conference camera workflow
  • Mounting, service access and electrical provision

Check the model-specific specifications

Model figures in this guide come from the linked catalogue pages. Confirm the selected configuration and current datasheet before ordering. Calculations are illustrative, not installation drawings or guaranteed operating results.

Frequently asked questions

Will a 4K controller make any LED wall native 4K?

No. A controller can accept or process a 4K signal while the physical wall has fewer pixels. Confirm the wall’s native horizontal and vertical pixel count.

Should I always choose the smallest pixel pitch?

No. Compare the detail required at the nearest seat, final native resolution, budget and maintenance plan. Smaller pitch is useful only when it supports the project requirements.
