Indoor vs Outdoor Rental LED Screens: What Buyers Should Compare
Indoor and outdoor rental LED screens differ in brightness, protection and available configurations. Select the actual version for the job; a shared series name does not make the panels equivalent.
Treat the environment as the first decision
An exhibition hall, covered stage and fully exposed outdoor venue present different conditions. Describe direct sun, rain exposure, wind, dust, operating hours and how the wall will be supported. A roof above a stage does not automatically turn the installation into an indoor environment. The screen, connectors, distribution and support design need to be appropriate to the location.
Compare the InnoLux versions explicitly
The supplied InnoLux table lists 600–800 cd/m² brightness and IP30 for indoor variants, compared with 4500–5000 cd/m² and IP65 for outdoor variants. These figures belong to the listed versions and should be confirmed on the quoted datasheet. They are not a statement that every panel can be switched between indoor and outdoor use. Discuss dimming and image performance at the actual operating brightness.
Do not choose pixel pitch in isolation
The InnoLux table includes an indoor P1.953 option and indoor/outdoor P2.604, P2.97 and P3.91 options. The best choice depends on nearest viewers, screen dimensions and content. A presentation with small text has different requirements from a concert backdrop. Ask for the native resolution and, where possible, a demonstration rather than relying on a universal distance-to-pitch rule.
Check inventory compatibility before expanding
Both versions list 500 × 500 mm and 500 × 1000 mm cabinet formats, but common dimensions do not prove electrical, optical or control compatibility. Confirm the receiving configuration, calibration, LED characteristics, cable interfaces and spare-parts compatibility for the exact production batch. If you plan to expand an existing wall, supply its model and configuration information before ordering more panels.
Plan operation, filming and power together
Outdoor visibility may call for higher light output, but the highest setting is not necessarily appropriate indoors or after dark. Confirm the power plan for the selected variant and operating conditions. For filmed events, assess refresh settings, camera shutter and content in a practical test. Include setup procedures, weather decisions and qualified support design in the operating plan rather than expecting the IP rating to answer every event-safety question.

Check the model-specific specifications
Model figures in this guide come from the linked catalogue pages. Confirm the selected configuration and current datasheet before ordering. Calculations are illustrative, not installation drawings or guaranteed operating results.
Frequently asked questions
Can an indoor InnoLux panel be used outdoors under a tent?
Do not assume it is suitable. The indoor table lists IP30. Discuss the actual exposure and obtain a configuration-specific operating plan.
Does higher brightness always improve an indoor event screen?
No. Match operating brightness to ambient light, audience comfort, content and camera settings. Compare image performance at the intended level.
Make it specific to your project.
Share your screen size, application and destination. You do not need a complete specification to start.
